Really, she had tried to shake off the idea of having to thank Levi for being a proper cat owner. Lena had managed to talk it out with Davin, there was only embarrassment left there but at least he knew she was grateful, so why couldn't she just own up and tell the detective why she was bringing him his favorite food?

"Is Detective Astor in?" It was a good thing it was still early, and that the station was pretty empty. To have someone she knew see her at the police station for unknown reasons - that would make everything worse. "I have a small package for him. Not - not like it's dangerous, it's only food. Unpoisoned f-" She winced and smiled at the guy behind the counter. "I'm making this worse, aren't I?"

"Please sit down for a moment, ma'am." The man looked undisturbed. "I'll see what I can do for you in a moment. Relax, please."

Kat hears the exchange from where she's perched on Jed's desk. She'd come to drop him off some lunch and when he'd disappeared to get work done - apparently something she was hindering - she'd decided to hang around. It's not unusual behaviour for Kat, so no one spares her a second glance.

She recognises the girl trying to get past the front desk from the Father's Day brunch and she can't help but eavesdrop. Well, she can, but she doesn't. She lets her sweat it out for a few minutes before she decides she might as well do something decent with her day, and goes to help convince the officer to let her through. Kat's good at batting her eyelashes and getting what she wants, and she's also well known enough around here that maybe she'll be in luck. She jumps off Jed's desk and wanders over.

"She's with me," she says to him, and there's a moment where he looks like he might object, but Kat smiles brightly at him and eventually he shakes his head and steps aside. At least, she thinks, she knows she's trained him well enough to know it's not worth arguing with her. "Levi's desk is that one over there," Kat says once she gets Lena alone, pointing to the corner. "It better not be poison, I'm actually quite fond of him."

Kat grins, and maybe her head gets a little bigger at being mistaken for a cop, but she can't help it. "No," she admits, shaking her head. "Though I do have my contacts, so if Levi keels over any time soon I have my prime suspect."

She's kidding, mostly. Lena doesn't look at all like the kind of girl who would poison a detective, but then again, maybe that's exactly what she's going for. Shrugging, Kat reaches over and pinches a donut from a nearby desk, taking a bite. "I'm just kidding. Seriously, it's that desk there."

Kat's pretty sure that if Lena was a criminal mastermind, she wouldn't be blushing so much. "I'm Kat. We've met." She's not entirely used to people not remembering her - she prides herself on making an impression.
