Really, she had tried to shake off the idea of having to thank Levi for being a proper cat owner. Lena had managed to talk it out with Davin, there was only embarrassment left there but at least he knew she was grateful, so why couldn't she just own up and tell the detective why she was bringing him his favorite food?
"Is Detective Astor in?" It was a good thing it was still early, and that the station was pretty empty. To have someone she knew see her at the police station for unknown reasons - that would make everything worse. "I have a small package for him. Not - not like it's dangerous, it's only food. Unpoisoned f-" She winced and smiled at the guy behind the counter. "I'm making this worse, aren't I?"
"Please sit down for a moment, ma'am." The man looked undisturbed. "I'll see what I can do for you in a moment. Relax, please."

Date: 2015-08-12 04:43 am (UTC)She recognises the girl trying to get past the front desk from the Father's Day brunch and she can't help but eavesdrop. Well, she can, but she doesn't. She lets her sweat it out for a few minutes before she decides she might as well do something decent with her day, and goes to help convince the officer to let her through. Kat's good at batting her eyelashes and getting what she wants, and she's also well known enough around here that maybe she'll be in luck. She jumps off Jed's desk and wanders over.
"She's with me," she says to him, and there's a moment where he looks like he might object, but Kat smiles brightly at him and eventually he shakes his head and steps aside. At least, she thinks, she knows she's trained him well enough to know it's not worth arguing with her. "Levi's desk is that one over there," Kat says once she gets Lena alone, pointing to the corner. "It better not be poison, I'm actually quite fond of him."

Does she know - she does know this woman, doesn't she? The question standing is if it was from her cat time or before that. "You're not a cop, are you?"

Shrugging, Kat reaches over and pinches a donut from a nearby desk, taking a bite. "I'm just kidding. Seriously, it's that desk there."

"Maybe I'm consciously getting close to you for an alibi because my partner is off doing the illegal stuff. Any moment now I will eh -" She blushes. "Do something to distract you properly and before you know it ..eh. So who are you if you're not a cop?"
